Modern Slavery Statement
Cleaners Harrow Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Cleaners Harrow has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not present in our business operations or supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our relationships and are committed to improving our practices to prevent exploitation.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Cleaners Harrow has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and all forms of exploitation. This applies to every aspect of our cleaning services, from directly employed staff to agency workers, contractors, and suppliers. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that does not share and uphold these values.
All managers and individuals who are involved in recruitment, procurement, or supplier management are required to act in line with this policy and to report any concerns immediately through our internal reporting channels.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Cleaners Harrow provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chains include the sourcing of cleaning products, equipment, uniforms, and subcontracted labour. We understand that modern slavery risks may arise particularly in lower-paid and outsourced services, and we focus our efforts on these areas.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who can demonstrate compliance with all applicable labour laws, including fair pay, safe working conditions, and the voluntary nature of employment.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
To minimise the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains, Cleaners Harrow applies a structured due diligence process when selecting and reviewing suppliers. As part of this process, we expect suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that they have measures in place to prevent modern slavery in their own operations and supply chains.
We carry out risk-based supplier audits, which may include requests for documentary evidence, questionnaires, written confirmations of compliance, and, where appropriate, site visits. Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to remedy the issue within a reasonable timeframe. If the concern cannot be resolved, or if there is evidence of modern slavery, we will terminate the relationship in line with our zero-tolerance policy.
Employee Awareness and Reporting Channels
We are committed to ensuring that our employees understand what modern slavery is, how to recognise potential indicators, and how to report any suspicions. Information on modern slavery and our policy is communicated through internal guidance and regular reminders to supervisors and team leaders.
Cleaners Harrow provides confidential reporting channels that enable employees, agency workers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical conduct without fear of retaliation. Reports can be made to line managers or to senior management. All reports are treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled with appropriate sensitivity and confidentiality.
Ongoing Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous vigilance and improvement. Cleaners Harrow is committed to reviewing this Modern Slavery Statement and the effectiveness of our measures on an annual basis, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation or our business operations.
As part of the annual review, we will evaluate our risk assessments, supplier due diligence outcomes, audit findings, and any reports received through our reporting channels. Where necessary, we will update our policies, training, and procedures to strengthen our controls and further reduce the risk of modern slavery within our business and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the management of Cleaners Harrow and represents our ongoing commitment to ethical conduct, human rights, and the prevention of modern slavery in all its forms.
